    Come into the Art Studio and let your creativity shine! Various arts and crafts supplies will be set out for you to make art with during our Open Studio. Open to all ages. No formal instruction will happen during Open Studio. Art materials are limited during this time to what has been set out by the Teaching Artist; ceramics are not available during Open Studio. All children under 16 must have an adult with them, only those making arts and crafts need to pay the $5 fee. Open Studio has a maximum number of participants, you are encouraged to pre-register to guarantee a spot using the links below. 10am-11am during Friday Open Studio are drop-in hours, participants that have not pre-registered can drop in and pay at the front desk. If no participants are in attendance by 11am Open Studio will close.

    (Ages 8 & Older; children must be accompanied by Parent/Guardian or one adult chaperone per group of 5) Celebrate the Monarch butterfly’s amazing annual migration. Join us in capturing, tagging, and releasing them to continue their journey to Mexico. Learn about these amazing insects and other native butterflies. Wear long pants to protect your legs as you run through the prairie and closed toed shoes to protect your feet. Due to a limited amount of insect nets, you are welcome to bring your own. For reservations and more information call (913) 826-2800. Advance reservations required. Registration for this event closes on Sept. 9. ** Participants will receive two tags to take home or use onsite. 1 - 2 hr. event - $7 / $ 8 nonresidents; including adults. Paid in advance. $9 per person onsite day of event, if space available Everyone attending, including adults must register and pay.
