Pre-Ballet (Ages 3-5)

This is a perfect age to enter the wonderful world of dance! Develop coordination, rhythm, and basic ballet positions in a fun and gentle introduction to dance. Ballet shoes and leotard are required.

Music and Movement (Ages 2-4)

Explore rhythm, tempo, and basic timing in this class! This is an introductory class that uses simple actions and dance movements with on focus on child friend music

Square Dancing (Ages 16+)

Art Labs: Ceramics (Ages 10-15)

Clay provides an opportunity for problem-solving and creative thinking. Learn score and slip, how to use various clay tools, and apply glaze to a finished design. Students will be introduced to the Potter’s Wheel. - SOLD OUT

OPENING NIGHT - Half Time - Gotta Dance at Theatre in the Park

HALF TIME is the incredible true story of ten determined dreamers who audition to dance at half time for a major basketball team. They have three things in common: they love to dance, they have something to prove, and they are all over 60 years-old. Only after making the cut do they learn they won’t be dancing tap, salsa or swing—instead, they will bring down the house with a style that is entirely new to them: hip-hop. Along the way through mentorship and friendship they battle self-doubt, stereotypes and even each other for a chance to bust a move at center court in front of 20,000 screaming fans. Together they remind us that in life, when the odds are stacked against you and the challenges seem too great to overcome, it’s not the end of the game—it’s HALF TIME. Half Time - Gotta Dance is based on the motion picture “Gotta Dance,” directed, written and produced by Dori Berinstein.

SOLD OUT - Friday Night Nature Programs (All Ages) - Good, Bad, and Smelly

Bring the family to the NEW outdoor amphitheater at Ernie Miller Park on Friday evenings this summer for entertainment and educational experiences. For more information, call (913) 826-2800. Each program is approximately 45 minutes to one hour in length and begins at 7 pm. In case of inclement weather, including extreme heat, program will be held indoors.

KidScape Summer Adventures - Retro Week

Explore the Johnson County Museum and our kid-sized community, KidScape, this summer! Discover history through crafts and projects inspired by our signature and temporary exhibits. New activities and explorations each week. Bring a lunch, water bottle, and snacks. Campers must have completed kindergarten to attend. This week's theme is "Retro Week." Camp Details: * Camp fees include all materials and field trip fees. * All camps require a water bottle daily. * Children must bring a sack lunch and 2 snacks each day.
