This is the perfect age to enter the wonderful world of dance! Develop coordination, rhythm, and basic ballet positions in this fun and gentle introduction to music and dance. Ballet shoes and leotard required. The final session will allow parents to observe the class.
On the second Saturday of each month, explore three-dimensional art through STEAM. Adult and child work together to create a one-of-a-kind sculpture with balance, unity, and movement! Different materials are explored each month. Parents are encouraged to join this class.

Through the use of creative drama, storytelling, music, and movement we will explore the themes and dynamic characters that are present in the PBS hit show Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood©. Explore rhythm, tempo, and basic timing in this class for the young and imaginative! Your child will have the opportunity to use the universal language of music to increase social skills, dive into creativity, and even gain some basic math insight through dance and music. This is an introductory class that uses simple actions and dance movements with a focus on child-friendly music.

Clay provides an opportunity for problem-solving and creative thinking. Learn score and slip, how to use various clay tools, and apply glaze to a finished design. Beginning at age 9, students will be introduced to the potter’s wheel. *No class 9/21

The public is invited to come watch as radio-controlled aircraft take off and land on the water at Shawnee Mission Park Lake when the Shawnee Mission Remote Control Club (SMRCC) conducts its 5th Annual Float Fly. This event, which is free for spectators to attend, will take place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. near Shelter #6 on the northwest side of the lake near the dam.
