Join us for a behind the scenes tour of the Johnson County Museum’s collections storage facility at the new Arts & Heritage Center! Led by museum staff, visitors will learn why we collect, how we collect, and the importance to our local community. Our collection features over 17,000 3D objects and over one million images. The Arts & Heritage Center facility holds the museum’s two-dimensional collection, including manuscript collections, maps, photographs, and quilts. Scout groups welcome! To schedule a separate time for your group of six to 12 people, please call (913) 715-2570. This informative event is $10 for adults or $9 for seniors (60+), $8 for children and includes museum and KidScape admission. Museum members are $4.

Come join us for the 11th Annual Great American Family Campout. Whether you are an experienced camper or just looking for an activity to share with your family, this is your opportunity to sleep under the stars in the safety of the largest park in Johnson County. The package includes passes for one pedal boat rental, admission to the beach, and tickets to The Theatre in the Park's production of "The Little Mermaid." As a special bonus, you will receive early admittance to the show. Campers will need to bring their own camping equipment (tents, sleeping bags, etc.) Saturday evening dinner is NOT provided. June 13, 14, 15 & 16 - Based on Hans Christian Andersen's beloved story and the classic animated film, this fishy fable will capture your heart! So, grab a blanket or chair and a picnic dinner and enjoy an evening under the stars! Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for youth (ages 4-10), and children 3 and under are free, but require a ticket. The box office opens at 6 pm, gates open at 6:30 pm, and curtain is at 8:30 pm.
