  1. Family Overnight Camping 101 at TimberRidge Adventure Center

    Play hooky with your kids and come learn about camping. Event will begin with tent set-up and on your own exploration followed by boating and fishing before dinner at 6 pm. Programmed activities will continue and end at 9 pm. Group breakfast will be available at 7 and event ends by 8:30 am. Don't have a tent, but want to come? We have one you can rent, limited quantity available. This is a great way to try camping without purchasing all the equipment. Call (913) 826-2800 to reserve your tent.   2. Fall Group Hayrides - Heritage Park

    Times: Fridays: 4 pm, 6 pm, 7:30 pm, and 9 pm; Saturdays: 2:30 pm, 4 pm, 5:30 pm, 7 pm, and 8:30 pm; Sundays: 2:30 pm, 4 pm, 5:30 pm, and 7 pm;

    Enjoy the outdoors by scheduling your group for a hayride through Heritage Park. Our hayrides conclude with a warm campfire where marshmallows and apple cider await. The one-hour hayride and one-hour campfire are just $7 per person, and groups will need to reach an $80 minimum for their ride. Hayrides are available on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Call (913) 831-3359 to reserve a date and time for your group. Hayrides are available from September 15 through November 18. Two weeks advance registration is required.

  5. Family Night Hike

    Brave the park after dark with your family. Move like a ninja on the trails. Bring your flashlight for a game of firefly tag. Listen for the nocturnal sounds of a cricket’s chorus and a barred owl’s call. Participants should bring a flashlight. This fun event is recommended for ages 8 and older with an adult.
