    October 18, 2019, 4:30 PM - 6:30 PM @ Antioch Park

    Try out a new family activity this Halloween the entire family will enjoy! Search for caches hidden around Antioch Park using Global Positioning Systems (GPS). GPS units, a tutorial, and meal are included during this modern day scavenger hunt. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Participants registering as a family will be loaned one GPS unit per family. Those registering as individuals will each be loaned a GPS unit. Costumes encouraged! Join us after your haunted hunt for hotdogs, s’mores, and spooky stories around the fire circle across from Shelter #2. This exciting event is just $13 per person, $14 nonresidents, $33 for a family up to four, $36 nonresidents, $42 for a family up to seven, $46 nonresidents.

    Shine up your car, truck, motorcycle, or specialty vehicle for the 10th annual Cars in the Park car show! Admission is free for spectators, and food concessions will be available. There will be a 50/50 pot and raffle, silent auction, a DJ, and more! If you are a vendor or would like information on sponsorship opportunities, please call Jodie at (913) 826-3027. Proceeds from this event go to benefit JCPRD Special Olympics programs so that athletes may afford to participate in many different activities.   7. Haunted Kansas

    October 19, 2019, 6:30 PM - 8:00 PM @ Ernie Miller Park

    As darkness falls, walk through the trails of Ernie Miller Park and listen to the stories of long ago. Characters from the past will share legends around the campfire. Expect a shiver down the spine and a mild case of goose bumps for those who dare enter the forest on this autumn evening. Group sessions begin every 15 minutes and program is approximately an hour and a half. This spooky story time is just $5 per person, $6 nonresidents, including adults, paid in advance, or $8 on site day of event. This is an outdoor event, so dress appropriately. Advance registration is required. Register today by following the “Register for Activities” button at www.jcprd.com, and then click on Fun for All, then Special Events, and look for Halloween: Haunted Kansas. In case of inclement weather, program will be held indoors. Program recommended for ages 8 and up, and all children must be accompanied by Parent/Guardian or one adult chaperone per group of 5.
