Sports and Facilities North - League Team Coaches Code of Conduct

  1. Any coach/parent who will be present on the player bench or providing coaching during games must read and complete this form. Please read the official Code of Conduct below and complete the required information at the bottom.

    All Coaches, Players, and Fans are expected to be in accordance at all times.
  4. Please remember that we are all here to present a positive example of sportsmanship and leadership to fellow athletes and impressionable youth.
  5. Code A:
    I PLEDGE to encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, officials and district staff at every game and practice. I will create an environment that promotes building character and learning life skills. I will place the emotional and physical well-being of my players ahead of winning. I will display the best example of character and behavior at all times. I will have my team prepared for each game. Proper attire in accordance with JCPRD rules and regulations will be required. I will provide playing time for every child in accordance with JCPRD rules and regulations.
  6. Code B:
    I will cooperate with the administrator of the program in the enforcement of rules and regulations. I will never criticize the referee openly or directly before, during or after the game. I will be knowledgeable in the rules of the game. I will teach my players to treat other players, coaches, fans, officials and district staff with respect. Before and after the game I shall meet and exchange friendly greetings with the opposing team and coaches. I will de-emphasize a winning or a losing attitude towards opposing team/coaches. I will be responsible for controlling the parents and spectators outside area of play before, during and after the game. Teams can and will be penalized for any negative actions or talk from their sidelines.
  7. Code C:
    The following infractions will result in the immediate termination of coaching/playing/spectating privileges: I will never coach/play/spectate under the influence of drugs or alcohol. I will never initiate or participate in any form of verbal or physical assault against other coaches, players, parents, referees or district staff. I will treat each player, opposing coach, official, parent or administrator with respect and dignity and refrain from using profanity, name calling, intimidation tactics and inappropriate language.
  8. The Head Coach of each team is responsible for keeping their coaches, players, and fans in good conduct. JCPRD does not tolerate taunting, cursing or any other unsportsmanlike conduct. Any type of inappropriate behavior by a coach, parent, or player could result in disciplinary action as deemed necessary by JCPRD. Officials reserve the right to warn, penalize, and/or eject players, coaches, and/or spectators who are in violation of the JCPRD Code of Conduct.
  9. JCPRD Coaches Code of Conduct Results of Violations
    Violations of the Coaches Code of Conduct will result in written documentation, advisory consultation and possible disciplinary action. The Coaches Code of Conduct applies to both the Head Coach and all Assistant Coaches of a team.
  10. Violation of Codes A and/or B will result in the following:
  11. 1st Violation:
    Verbal warning for the Coach/Player/Fan if witnessed during a game. If brought to the attention of the Staff after the game, a warning via an e-mail or phone call from Park District staff will be administered.
  12. 2nd Violation
    Suspension if witnessed during a game. After a second occurrence of violation occurs, this will result in an immediate suspension of coaching/playing/spectating duties/privileges for the next scheduled game.
  13. 3rd Violation
    Permanent termination of that coach’s/player’s/fan’s privilege to manage/coach/play/spectate Youth Sports with the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
  14. Violation of Conduct Code C:
    Any violation under Code C will result in an immediate suspension/termination of coaching/playing/spectating duties/privileges for the remainder of the season. This includes the privilege to manage/coach, play and attend youth sports. This must be sighted by District Staff or brought to the attention of Gym Supervisor, located at the front desk. If occurrence takes place at the last game of the season, suspension/termination of coaching/playing/spectating duties/privileges for the entire following season(s) will apply.
  15. I have read and understand that violating any of these codes can result in verbal warning, expulsion from games and/or facilities, suspension from play, coaching, and/or attendance, and/or permanent termination of JCPRD league/program participation.*
