Sunflower Nature Park
Sunflower Nature Park consists of 60 beautiful acres featuring with a paved one-mile loop nature trail (1/2 mile of the nature trail is accessible), picnic shelter, fishing pond, and two ball fields.

Park Shelters

Shawnee Mission Park has 8 varied sized shelters to accommodate most parties. The shelters are perfect for parties, family reunions, corporate events, and weddings! To ensure the use of a shelter, reservations are recommended. For individual shelter details view the Subfacilities section below.

To check availability or to reserve a shelter, call (913) 831-3359, Monday - Friday from 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. or visit our Registration Office
in Antioch Park.


Pond

The pond is a beautiful spot for fishing and family enjoyment. The pond is stocked with a variety of fish. JCPRD fishing permits and state fishing licenses (per state regulations) are required before fishing. See below for requirements.
