Adults can row, row, row their way to fitness and health with an exercise class being offered beginning in early February at the Johnson County Park and Recreation District's Mill Creek Activity Center.
Titled Fitness Learn to Row, this moderate intensity class is for ages 18 and older. Participants will earn the basics of indoor rowing with the Kansas City Rowing Club. Rowing is a full-body, low-impact, high-intensity workout. It uses 84 percent of your muscle groups, with an emphasis on legs. Rowing is an excellent way to improve your general fitness and conditioning and can be used as a low-impact leg recovery. Our coaches will teach the proper use of the equipment and proper technique. We’ll introduce you to ways to measure your progress, teach rowing drills to improve strength and endurance, and offer strategies to add rowing to your fitness plan.
