Celebrate National Hot Chocolate Day during new special event on Jan. 31

Yummy Hot Chocolate and Marshmallow Molding

Young children and a parent are invited to celebrate National Hot Chocolate Day in late January during a new special event being presented by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.

The event is called Yummy Hot Chocolate & Marshmallow Molding and is for ages up to five years old with an adult. Participants will make their own marshmallow snowmen while enjoying hot chocolate and time with a loved one, and take home a keepsake.

To find this program in the My JCPRD Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under special events and then under preschool . In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “preschool.”

Yummy Hot Chocolate & Marshmallow Molding will take place beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 31, at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood Dr., Roeland Park. If purchased in advance, the cost for this one-hour event is $3 per child for Johnson County residents or $4 per child for nonresidents, or $5 per child on the day of the event, if space is available.
