A Raisin in the Sun and the Legacy of Redlining

Saturday, December 3, 2022

Join the Johnson County Museum and JCPRD Fine and Performing Arts Department for a one-of-a-kind experience that explores the history and legacy of redlining in our region.

Our program begins with a scene study from A Raisin in the Sun, followed by a tour of the museum’s newest exhibit and exploration of the systemic roots of housing inequality and segregation. The experience culminates in a mixed-media art project where participants create visual art that reflects their experience with this complex history.

Registration includes all art supplies and a complimentary adult beverage. Copies of A Raisin in the Sun and the Museum's recently published book REDLINED: Cities, Suburbs, and Segregation will be available for purchase at the museum store.
