Forgy is new member of Johnson County Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners
An Overland Park man was recently appointed by the Board of Johnson County Commissioners to serve as the third district representative to the Johnson County Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners.
On Feb. 4, Dan Forgy was appointed by BOCC Member Charlotte O’Hara to a seat on the board which was previously held by Paul Snider.
A certified accountant since 1973, Forgy is the owner of Forgy Financial LLC, a certified public accounting firm. He is a member of the Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
He said he is eager to bring his financial background working with both large and small companies and organizations to the board.
“I didn’t realize the scope and size of JCPRD,” Forgy said. “ I am impressed by the competence and professionalism of the staff, and want to help JCPRD continue to be responsive to residents. Johnson County has a wonderful park system and we need to strive to maintain and improve upon it.”
Originally from Vandalia, Mo., Forgy graduated from Truman State University, Kirksville, Mo., and served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Johnson County in 1976 and currently resides in Overland Park with his wife, Theresa.
