Whether your travel aspirations include seeing Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca, Big Ben and Westminster Abbey, Banff and Jasper national parks in Canada, or Reykjavik, geysers, and the stunning scenery of Iceland, our 50 Plus Travel Show on Tuesday, June 12, will inspire you to make these and other travel dreams a reality.
This travel show, which begins at 1 p.m. at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, 8788 Metcalf Ave., Overland Park, will preview several extended travel opportunities. Several of the trips won’t be publicly announced until the next issue of the My JCPRD Activities catalog comes out in late July.
Among the tours to be highlighted at the June travel show are: tours to Peru, Great Britain, The Canadian Rockies, Cities of Central & Eastern Europe, a Caribbean Cruise, and an Icelandic Adventure.
"We are excited to preview the Icelandic Adventure tour, as Iceland is quite the desired destination in recent years," said 50 Plus Program Administrative Assistant Rachel Rendina.
During this free three-hour event, participants will spend an afternoon meeting 50 Plus travel professionals while previewing our scheduled destinations and beautiful vacation spots. Learn about the benefits of choosing to travel with us and see photos of our past travel experiences. Brochures and itineraries are available to help you choose where you want to go on your first trip, your tenth trip, or your 50th trip! Attendees are eligible for door prizes and Travel Show booking incentives of $50 off JCPRD's Collette Tours.
These travel shows typically draw 80 to 100 participants each season. Officials estimate that of those who participate in JCPRD’s extended travel opportunities, nearly 80 percent took part in a travel show before signing up.
