The newest issue of the My JCPRD Activities catalog will be online on Nov. 15 and in print form the week before Thanksgiving. Registration for classes in the catalog begins at 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 18.
The free 64-page publication features more than 500 programs from Preschool to 50 Plus offered between January and April. Program offerings range from arts and crafts to sports to nature activities and include leagues, classes, seminars, workshops, lunch and learns, and trips. The catalog spotlights a winter and early spring calendar full of special events, and includes spring break camps for youth.
Special events in this issue include: Christmas Tree Recycling, The Great Backyard Bird Count, two trout stockings at two district lakes, auditions for The Theatre in the Park’s 2020 outdoor season of summer musicals, a Kid’s Garage Sale at the Mill Creek Activity Center, Dinner with the Strolling Strings, a Kid’s Carnival at the Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse, Musical Delight with Dansby Vogler, Kansas City Passport to Adventure, Mildale Farm Spring Community Day, Trucks and Big Rigs for Kids, a seasonal 50 Plus Travel Show, an Irish Celebration with Celtique, Breakfast with the Bunny, the annual TimberRidge Adventure Center Open House, and many more.
The catalog also contains articles about prescribed burning, a new bike share program coming to JCPRD parks, an upcoming temporary exhibit at the Johnson County Museum about Women and the Vote, The Amazing Family Race special event in April, and a 50 Plus day trip called Explorations & Adventure.
The My JCPRD Activities catalog is mailed to approximately 30,000 past participants who have previously taken part in a district program. Catalogs are also available at Johnson County Library branches, community centers, various businesses, and at district locations.
JCPRD’s 2020 Summer Camp Guide will be available online after Jan. 22, and in print after Jan. 23. Registration for the 2020 summer camps listed in the guide begins at 6 a.m. on Jan. 27.
