Day Trip: A Dicken’s Christmas
The holiday spirit will be in the air as you find yourself in Warrensburg, Mo., for the annual Dicken’s Christmas Festival. Characters dressed in era clothes will roam the streets while you enjoy chestnuts on an open fire, hot chocolate bars, vendors, craftworkers demonstrating and selling their crafts, horse drawn wagon rides, and various street entertainment throughout the day. Your ticket includes entry to the Tiny Tim Soup Stroll, where you’ll sample soups from various shop locations throughout the day. Meet for lunch as a group at a nearby restaurant.

Social Outing: A Christmas Carol at KC Rep Theatre
Join us for a festive performance of the timeless tale, A Christmas Carol, at the KC Repertory Theatre. Seats are limited. The pre-paid theatre ticket cost is non-refundable at time of registration.

What’s better than KC BBQ and brews? Enjoy the Smokestack Beer and Bites tour at Boulevard Brewery. Get a behind the scenes tour of the brewing process and sample beers along with perfectly paired small bites. The group will enjoy lunch at Q39 BBQ. After the tour, stop off for bakery refreshments.

Delight in a demonstration of marble making at the Moon Marble Company in Bonner Springs, Kan. After lunch, discover the sunken treasures of the Arabia Steamboat Museum. Housing artifacts salvaged from the steamboat which sank in the Missouri River in 1856, this time capsule will have you stepping back in time.

After the tour, enjoy a boxed lunch that features their farm-fresh sheep cheese. Later, visit the Silk Museum and spend time in downtown Weston, Mo.

Travel to Fulton, Mo. and tour America’s National Churchill Museum and hear about his legacy and contributions as the Prime Minister during WWII. Next, visit the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Aldermanbury. This seventeenth-century English church once stood in the center of London, England, where Nazi bombs tore through it during WWII. An organist will bring the walls to life with beautiful music for our group. After lunch, enjoy a tour of Westminster College, the site of Churchill’s speech, “Sinews of Peace.”
