The Museum offers a variety of programs each month to engage adult audiences to learn more about Johnson County and regional history.  Visit the museum calendar for upcoming events and check out the quarterly programs below.

Solve the mystery of the missing school marm at this new escape-room style adventure, and learn a little local history on your journey! This. This program is at the Lanesfield Historic Site and  is best for ages 10+ Someone in your group must be 18 or older.

Program fee is $50 for 2 people, $20 per person for 3-8 people. Museum members receive a 20% discount. Please call for reservation at least one week prior. Call 913-715-2570 or email.

Behind-the-Scenes Museum Tour

Behind Scenes Tour promoEver wonder what and why we collect?  Join us for a behind the scenes tour of the Johnson County Museum’s collections at the new Arts & Heritage Center! Led by museum staff, visitors will learn  about our local community from museum collections, which feature over 20,000 3D objects and over one million photographic images.  The museum’s two-dimensional collection, including manuscript collections, maps, photographs, and quilts, is housed at the new Arts & Heritage Center.  Call 913-715-2570 or email to make a reservation (minimum of 10 people). Tour lasts approximately one hour.  Great private tour for your Scout and fraternal group too! 

Program fee is $10 adults, $9 seniors, $8 children (1-17) for non-members. Museum member fee is $4.

History on Tap 

Resized_20181101_180904Join fellow history lovers for evening discussions of histories relevant to today's ever-changing world. Sessions typically last 1.5 hours and include adult beverages and snacks. Check the museum calendar for upcoming events.

Program fee is  $5 per person and includes access to museum galleries. Museum members receive a 20% discount.  

Lunch & Learn Series

ChuckAtVictrolaExplore a new topic over the noon hour to learn about other regional museums, historic collections, preservation techniques and generally interesting stuff!  Sessions typically last two hours.  Check the museum calendar for upcoming programs.

Program fee is $5 per person and includes museum entry. Museum members receive a 20% discount.
