- Sunflower Nature Park
Sunflower Nature Park is a 57-acre park just south of K-10 Highway near Edgerton Road at 36915 W 103rd Street in De Soto, KS The Sunflower Nature Park, dedicated in 1984, currently features a paved one-mile loop trail, a small fishing lake, one picnic shelter, two parking lots, a restroom buildings, and two ball fields adjacent to the nature area.
The master plan for Sunflower Nature Park was designed in April 2008 by consulting team Bowman Bowman Novick, Inc., of Kansas City, Missouri. Planning workshops were in June and August that year, where plans were reviewed, suggestions were made, and development proposals were submitted.
The Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners considered and accepted the revised master plan at the Committee of the Whole meeting on October 22, 2008.
