About the Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners

Per Kansas statutes, JCPRD is governed by a seven-member, policy-making Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners appointed by the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) of Johnson County, Kansas.  In addition, a member of the BOCC serves as an ex officio member of the JCPRD Board.  All Board members must be qualified voters of and reside within Johnson County, Kansas.  Terms of office are for three-year periods and are staggered so that a majority of the members have experience on the Board. The Board elects its officers from its own members annually.

MEETINGS

All JCPRD Board and Board committee meetings are announced in advance on the JCPRD website.  Meeting agendas, agenda packets, Board Reports, and Board meeting handouts are also available on JCPRD’s website prior to meetings and for at least one calendar year following the meeting.
