Ages 50 & Older Maker Programs

FINE ARTS ICONSMaker education allows participants to learn new skills and explore tools through 2D and 3D design, making with innovative tools and technologies and using familiar materials in unfamiliar ways. Participants in making, engineering and STEM programs develop technical knowledge while bringing their creative ideas to fruition. 


Sewn Circuits Series (Ages 50 and Older)

Learn about electronics while making a piece of glowing, wearable art. Students will sew wearable electronic components 
onto fabric to make glowing DIY patches that can be worn on any fabric item. Prior hand sewing experience 
is recommended but not required.

Felt Flower Mini-Series (Ages 50 and Older)

Learn how to sculpt a variety of different flowers by cutting and gluing different types of felt for wreaths, floral 
arrangements and more. We'll have some pre-cut flowers and templates made with our makerspace's laser cutter 
plus lots of felt to make your own designs with too. No experience needed.

Machine Sewing Basics Series (Ages 50 and Older)

Learn how to sew, using one of our sewing machines during this series of classes! 
Sew small projects as you learn how to thread the machine, change your bobbin and more
 as you get to know how a sewing machine works and sewing terminology.
