Benefits and Wellness

HRD-benefits-cultureBenefits are an integral part of the overall compensation package provided by Johnson County Park and Recreation District. We strive to provide employees and their eligible dependents with choices that meet their needs.

Full-time employees: Regularly scheduled to work at least 40 hours a week

Part-time partial plus employees: Regularly scheduled to work 30-39 hours a week

Part-time partial employees: Regularly scheduled to work 20-29 hours a week

Seasonal employees: Not eligible for benefits

Insurance benefits begin on the first day of the calendar month following an employee’s start date or the date an employee becomes benefit-eligible.

This matrix shows the benefits available to a full-time employee, a part-time partial plus employee and a part-time partial employee. Seasonal employees are not eligible for the benefits shown in the matrix.

JCPRD offers employees a wellness program with a variety of opportunities for participation. This program provides opportunities such as Live Well Be Well (fitness days), Wellness Rewards (paycheck incentive for participating in wellness activities), discounted programs, free memberships, Kansas City Corporate Challenge, and on-site wellness seminars.
