New Century Fieldhouse 7v7 Competitive Youth Soccer League Rules
General
All rules will conform to FIFA rules of the game unless otherwise stated below
Format
U8-U12 will play 7v7 (including goalie) and use a size 4 ball
All age groups will play two 25-minute halves, with a 3-minute halftime
Rosters
Rosters with player's name and parent signature are required to be turned in before the team's first game
Roster form will be sent to each team's coach or manager for submission
Player Equipment
Cleats are allowed
Shin guards are required
No jewelry allowed
Players must have like jerseys with numbers
Home team must wear light colored jersey. If home team complies and there is a conflict, the visiting team must change jerseys. If home team does not wear light/white and there is a conflict, home team must change jerseys or wear pinnies.
Goalies must wear a jersey of a different color than that of their team
No gum, candy, or food is allowed on the field. Water only is the only beverage allowed on the field.
Substitutions
Teams may substitute on ANY dead ball in their possession, and on opponent's substitution
All substitutions are at the discretion of the referee
Substitutions may enter field of play only after receiving permission from the referee
Goalkeepers
Outdoor FIFA rules apply when passing back to the goalkeeper
No punting/drop kicking is allowed
Goalkeepers may not throw past midfield in the air. If they do, it will result in an indirect free kick at the spot where the ball crossed midfield
Out of Bounds
A throw-in, corner kick, or goal kick will be awarded when the ball goes out of bounds. A throw-in may not go directly into the goal
If the ball touches the netting above, the ball will be placed within that vicinity with an indirect free kick
If the ball touches the netting inside the box, play will be restarted with a corner kick for the attacking team or a goal kick for the defending team
Offside
Offside will be called following FIFA laws
Free Kicks
Direct and indirect kicks will follow FIFA laws
The ball needs to be kicked and clearly moved to be in play
Opposing players must be 6 yards from the ball for U8-U12
Fouls
All fouls will follow FIFA laws
A player who is given a yellow card must be substituted by the coach until the next subbing opportunity
A player receiving a red card must leave the field and that team must play a man down. This player will miss the next match IF it is a straight red
Heading Rules
U11 and younger only - deliberate heading will result in an indirect free kick for the opposing team, from the spot of the offense. If the infraction occurs in the goal box, the free kick will be taken from the nearest edge of the box, parallel to the goal line
Decisions of the Referee
All decisions made by the referee are final
No protests will be allowed
League Fees
All teams must pay the full balance at the time of registration to secure a spot in the league. If a team removes itself from a league, all fees paid shall be forfeited. No refunds or game credits shall be given for the following
Forfeited games
Inclement weather
Stoppage of game due to player and/or misconduct or injury
Standings
Standings will be kept for each division, but no awards are given
