The Shawnee Mission Triathlon and Duathlon occurs in Shawnee Mission Park and takes athletes throughout the most visited park in the state that serves as a 1,665-acre urban refuge. Additionally, the course joins the Mill Creek Streamway Trail offering asphalt pathways snaking along the stream and through hillside forests.
There is something for every athlete ranging in experience from first-timer to the seasoned veteran: Super Sprint Triathlon, Short Course Triathlon, Long Course Triathlon, Olympic Triathlon, Duathlon and Mixed Team Relay. The Shawnee Mission Triathlon and Duathlon is a USA Triathlon sanctioned event.
JCPRD is dedicated to the providing a safe and enjoyable event for all. As guidance has been updated from the Johnson County Department of Health and Environment as well as the CDC, we've updated our safety measures for this event. Please note that we will now be allowing spectators at the event, we just ask that they maintain a safe distance from those outside of their household. Consistent with local and CDC guidelines, fully vaccinated individuals are no longer required to wear a mask. However, unvaccinated individuals are encouraged to wear masks.
