Homeschool students will learn to use new tools and technologies with various projects focused on mechanics, electronics and digital fabrication- designing and testing at every stage. Homeschool Making & Engineering programs are designed to fulfill a number of art, design and engineering standards for homeschool families.
Homeschool Making & Engineering I (Ages 8-11)
Make machines, electrical circuits, custom games and more as you learn how to combine art with engineering to explore and create amazing things during this series. Students will go through the entire design process from idea to sketch, to first draft and end result; focusing on iterative design and process over product. This class is designed to supplement your homeschool curriculum and let you explore art, making, science and engineering in a hands-on way. The spring 2024 series will feature all new projects.
Focusing on design and digital fabrication, this 11 week series will teach students the basics of 2d and 3d design as well as introduce them to 3d printing and laser cutting. Other skills learned during this class will include wiring basic electrical circuits and using hand tools. This class is designed to supplement your homeschool curriculum and let you explore art, making, science and engineering in a hands-on way.Participants will need to bring their own laptop for the class; email [email protected] with questions.
