Cooking: Baklava - A Sweet Delight 

Welcome, or Ahlaan, in Arabic!  Watch a demonstration of how to make an age-old beloved middle eastern dessert as well as a breakfast bread.  Samples will be available to pick up at Meadowbrook Park Clubhouse to enjoy during the program.

Crafts: Craft Savvy – Coasters

Let’s craft together, virtually! It’s fun and easy to change out your table décor by making coasters that coordinate with the season.  Follow along with a JCPRD staff member and create a set of your own coasters or give them as a gift. Exercise: AEA Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program (AFEP) – Virtual 

LOW INTENSITY: AFEP has now gone virtual! Enjoy this low intensity, chair-based exercise from the comfort of your own home.

Exercise: Virtual Chair Yoga 

Take yoga off the mat and onto the chair, incorporating breathing with movement while retaining all the benefits of yoga. Use the chair for support if needed during standing poses. This class will take place every Tuesday for 4 consecutive weeks. If you are unable to attend class at the scheduled time, you will receive a link to watch the recorded class at your convenience within 48 hours.

Special Interest: We Were Beachside Once

Kansas is certainly not a state associated with beachside living, but over geological time, what is now Kansas has not only been near an ocean, but sometimes it has been under the ocean! In this presentation, KU Geology Professor Alison Olcott will take you through a tour of the geological history of the state, including how the rocks around us formed, and what the fossils in those rocks tell us about the animals that used to live where we do now.
