Shawnee Mission Marina
Boats can be reserved online up to 7 days prior to your actual rental date. Reservations can be made in person at Shawnee Mission Park Marina. Walk-in reservations are taken 30-minutes prior to the boat launch only.
Shawnee Mission Park Marina offers boat rentals including kayaks, paddle boards, pedal boats and canoes in the heart of the beautiful Shawnee Mission Park. Whether you are looking for a great workout, fun family activity or a peaceful float on the water, Shawnee Mission Park Marina has what you are looking for.
- All boat rental reservations can be completed online, Reservations close 15-minutes prior to the actual rental time.
- If doing reservation in-person, walk-in reservations are only taken 30-minutes prior to scheduled boat launch.
- One hour boat rentals will be offered with 30-minutes in between rentals to allow staff to sanitize the facility, boats and equipment prior to the next rental.
- Dock will be set-up with one-way walkways to enter and exit dock.
Age Requirements
- Must be 12 years or older to rent a boat.
- Must be 12 years or older to occupy a boat without guardian.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied, in the same boat, by an adult to rent and use equipment.
How to rent and what to expect when arriving to the marina.
- You can reserve your boat online up to 7 days prior to your actual rental date. Reservations can be made in person at Shawnee Mission Park Marina. Please arrive 30-minutes prior to boat rental start time to allow time to complete reservation.
- All boat reservations are for 1 hour. Reservations close 15-minutes prior to the actual rental time.
- When arriving please present your digital or printed receipt to the marina office.
- A photo ID is required to be shown to staff when checking in for your boat rental.
- Signage and staff will help direct you to your boat. All patrons must be able to enter and exit the boat without assistance.
- Once on the lake please maintain proper social distancing from other boats and follow all Shawnee Mission Park Marina Rules and Regulations.
- When your rental is done, please re-enter the dock area following directions from signage and staff.

Shawnee Mission Park Marina Rules & Regulations
We want to ensure you have a fun and safe experience, please ensure you are following all Shawnee Mission Park Marina rules and regulations.
- No refunds for boat rentals, unless the facility is closed by JCPRD staff.
- Please obey marina staff at all times. Marina staff reserves the right to ask any patron who is not following the rules and regulations to leave the facility without refund.
- Must be 12 years or older to rent a boat. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in a boat alone and must be accompanied by an adult.
- All patrons renting boat must wear life jacket at all times while on dock or in the boat. Life jackets are available at the marina and are included in your rental fee. Patrons may bring their own life jackets, but they must be U.S. Coast Guard approved. No exceptions.
- Please stay clear of the Shawnee Mission Park Beach swim area. Do not beach boats on any shoreline.
- No alcohol, tobacco or drugs are allowed.
- Please do not exit boat on the lake for swimming
- Pets are not allowed on rental watercraft(s). They are very welcome to visit the Shawnee Mission Park Park Dog Park.
- Do not stand in or tip boats intentionally.
- Paddle boards and kayaks are single person boats.
- Renters are responsible for damage or loss to the boats and or equipment.
- JCPRD is not responsible for accidents, loss or damage to personal property.
- Please be cognizant of others on the lake. Allow all boaters on the lake space to enjoy. .
- Do not bump into other boats.
- Fishing is not allowed from rented boats.
- Coolers and food are not allowed on the boats. Water bottles are allowed.
Johnson County Permits:
Fishing and boating permits are not sold at the Shawnee Mission Park Marina. Permits can be purchased at the Shawnee Mission Park Administration Building, or by phone at 913-438-7275, or online.
