Summer Camps

Join us for a great series of summer camps for all ages! 


Come spend the summer with us! All full-day camps are offered Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 4:00pm. Camp Fees include all materials and field trip fees.  All camps require a water bottle, lunch, and 2 snacks daily.  Museum members receive a 20% discount!

NEW! During this half-day camp children will learn all about our community, the people who help make it work, and take on the role of helpers themselves in our one-of-a-kind kid-sized community KidScape! Through exploring KidScape and the museum, hands-on activities, games, and crafts, campers will learn and play through Johnson County history.

KidScape Summer Adventures (Ages 6-8)

Explore the Johnson County Museum and our kid-sized community, KidScape, this summer! Discover history through crafts and projects inspired by our signature and temporary exhibits. New activities and explorations each week. Exceptions can be made for 5-year-olds who have completed kindergarten.

Young historians will love digging into the past in this unique week-long camp! Learn about all things made in Johnson County and even take on the role of JoCo inventor yourself. Campers will explore history through hands-on exploration and activities, and even explore areas of the museum off-limits to the public!

History Geek Camp (Ages 13 - 16)Museum - Geek Camp

Calling all history geeks! During this unique week-long camp, young historians will explore all the museum spaces - including the ones off-limit to the public! Campers will learn about all the things that go on behind the scenes in a museum and even take on the role of a curator to create a display for the museum. We will also travel to the Lanesfield Historic Site for even more fun. Exceptions can be made for 12-year-olds on a case-by-case basis.
