Summer Camps

Join us for a great series of summer camps for all ages! Registration is now open and  space is limited. Don't wait too long and miss out on summer fun! 

Kids working to create sun prints at a table KidScape Summer Adventures  (ages 5-9) Discover history through crafts and projects inspired by our signature and temporary exhibits. New activities and explorations each week. Bring a lunch and water bottle. Campers must have completed kindergarten to attend. Full week sessions for $150 per week.  Weeks:  6/3, 6/10, 6/17 and 6/24.  9am - 4pm daily, with option of drop-in before/after care for $5 each day or $20 per week.

History Geek Camp (ages 10-14) Young historians will love traveling through time during this week-long camp! Immerse yourself in history, clothing, games, music, and food representing different eras and cultures in Johnson County history each day. Campers will interact with our museum’s exhibits, and explore areas off limits to the public. We will travel to Lanesfield Historic Site to experience our “Scandal in the Schoolhouse” escape room!  Choose the week of 7/22 or 8/5 from 9am - Noon, $100 per week.

Junior Curator Camp (ages 13-17)
Ever wonder what goes on behind the scenes in museums? Become a Teens dressed up in 1950s clothes posing next to 1955 Chevy Bel-Air carcurator for a week at the Johnson County Museum! Through hands-on experiences, you will learn how artifacts are acquired and cared for and the process of creating an exhibit. Take an in-depth look at our research files, photographs, and artifacts that tell the story of Johnson County. Choose the week of 7/22 or 8/5 from 1pm-4pm, $100 per week.
