Arts, Not Crafts (Ages 16 & Older)

The class we all wish we had during school: no rules.  Come and learn the basic guidelines of the two-dimensional medium of your choice and take it to the level you want.  Artists will act as guides and are available as a learning resource; explore mediums and processes.

Prorate is available for a late start with this class. You may also do a one-day drop-in for $15, no pre-registration for this option.


Ceramics (Ages 16 & Older)

Moldable clay provides an opportunity for problem-solving and creative thinking within a tranquil and reassuring environment.  You will have the opportunity to learn how to properly adhere separate clay pieces through score and slip, how to use various clay tools, and how to apply glaze to a finished design culminating in beautiful works of art ready to display!


Color Theory, B1V1 (Ages 21 & Older)

Explore the medium of acrylic paint by practicing color mixing and color balance. Show consistent and controlled appearance in the final project by using a color theory grid technique.

Mixed Media (Ages 21 & Older)

Exploring with paint and a variety of mixed materials, we will partake in the process of collage to express your inner creativity.  Let go of expectations to discover what is unique about a visual adventure in integrating a variety of materials, discarded and recycled with paint to explore the creative process. In this workshop, we will develop our collages to create personal treasure maps that tell a visual story through images and color. We’ll compose-as-you-go in paint and collage to create an expression of this experience, time and place.

An Introduction to Light, B1V1 (Ages 21 & Older)

Learn the basics of digital photography with a focus on manual control of the camera, you’ll explore conceptualizing the shot. This program includes a trip to an off-site location. Learn critical analysis of the photos. Participants are asked to supply their own digital camera, SD card, and camera charger.

Painting Portraits and Figures

Teaching Artist: Eugene Bortnick, M.D.

With a focus on drawing following by use of watercolor, you will learn how to recreate a portrait from a photograph with direction provided by teaching artist, Eugene Bortnick, M.D. Contact [email protected] for a supplies list.
