9th Annual Johnson County Park & Recreation District Women's Triathlon & Duathlon

She swims, she bikes, she runs... She NEVER quits. Discover the unparalleled strength, empowerment and camaraderie found among hundreds of women tackling a challenge together! The Johnson County Park & Recreation District is proud to be the title sponsor of one of the two all-female triathlons and duathlons in the state of Kansas. The Johnson County Park and Recreation District is committed to enhancing the quality of life athletes near and far by providing high-quality parks, services and recreation programs.

This USAT sanctioned event features a Super-Sprint Distance triathlon, a Sprint Distance triathlon and a Duathlon course in Kill Creek Park. All age group athletes participate and compete in the age group division corresponding to the athlete's age on December 31st of this year (2017). Individual awards will be presented to the top three female overall finishers in each course. Age group awards will be broken down into five year increments.

The Course
Super Sprint Triathlon Course
The super sprint triathlon course is a 200 meter swim; 4 mile bike inside the park; and 2 mile run.
Sprint Triathlon Course
The sprint triathlon course is a 500 meter swim, a 10.6 mile partially hilly bike; and a 3.1 mile run (5k)
Athena Category
  The triathlon race includes an Athena Division. The division is 165 lbs. and over. The division age categories are 39 years of age and under, and 40 years of age and over. This age is based on the athlete's age on December 31st of this year (2016). Participants are not eligible to compete in this division and in an age group division.
Duathlon Course
  The duathlon is a 3.1 mile (5k) first and second run; and 10.6 mile, partially hilly, bike.
  Participants also have the option to compete in the sprint triathlon and duathlon as a team, in a relay format. Each individual of the team can complete one or two legs for both the triathlon and duathlon. There is a three member maximum on the team and at least two members are required in order to compete in the team category.

Each entrant (including team members) must be a member of USA Triathlon.
One-day memberships for adults are $15 or annual memberships are $50.
Youth memberships are $10.

*$10 late fee for those registering at packet pick-up

*Must be registered by 9/1/17 to guarantee t-shirt


Awards will be presented to the top three female and team overall finishers in each of the courses. Individual awards will be presented to the top three athletes in each age division as listed below:

11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49 (and so on...)

Dive into Training!
JCPRD offers open water swimming at Kill Creek Park Beach on Mondays, Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm beginning June 5th through August 28th. Fees for this are $4 for JoCo residents and $4.50 for non-JoCo residents.

From new triathletes/duathletes to the elite, our Women’s Triathlon and Duathlon race ambassadors are here to inspire others in the multi-sport community. Ambassadors receive perks like a complimentary race registration, race gear and more.
