Whether you are an experienced camper or just looking for an
activity to share with your family and friends, this is your
opportunity to sleep under the stars in the safety of one of
the most beautiful and spacious parks in Johnson County.
The Shawnee Mission Park Great American Campout
In addition to spending a night under the stars in Shawnee
Mission Park, our lucky campers will receive passes for
admittance to the Shawnee Mission Park Beach, Pedal Boat Rental
and tickets to a great The
Theatre in the Park. And as a special bonus, you will receive
early admittance to each show.
Benefiting New Horizon's Summer Camp
Along with the benefit of spending time with friends and family
in the great outdoors, proceeds from this event will benefit
JCPRD’s New Horizon Summer Camp. 2011 marks New Horizons
42nd year serving the county’s special needs population
for ages 6-18.
Campout Cost
Cost is $20 Adults and $15 Children 3 and under free.
What To Bring To The Campout
Campers will need to bring their own camping equipment (tents,
sleeping bags, etc.). Saturday evening dinner will not be provided
but community grills will be available and donuts, juice and
milk will be provided Sunday morning.
