Whether you are an experienced camper or just looking for an
activity to share with your family and friends, this is your
opportunity to sleep under the stars in the safety of one of
the most beautiful and spacious parks in Johnson County.
The Shawnee Mission Park Great American Campout
In addition to spending a night under the stars in Shawnee
Mission Park, our lucky campers will receive passes for
admittance to the Shawnee Mission Park Beach, Pedal Boat Rental
and tickets to a great on-stage production at The
Theatre in the Park. And as a special bonus, you will receive
early admittance to the show.
Family of 4: $30
Children 3 & under: Free
Proceeds benefit JCPRD Special Olympics/Special Populations
You may register by phone, walk in, or complete the Great American
Campout registration form and fax or mail in (see below).
Packet information may be downloaded electronically
by clicking on the links below. A limited number of hard copies
will be available the day of the event upon check-in. Enter
through the Theatre in the Park entrance located at 7710 Renner
Road and follow the signs to the check-in area located in the
grass field just southeast of the Theatre. Theatre Gates open
at 2:00 pm on Saturday.

2-6 PM - Set Up Campsites / Bass Pro
Walking/Fishing/ Swimming/ Pedal boating/ Family Time
6:15 PM - Early Admittance to Theatre
8:30 PM - Production of “Mary Poppins”
10:45 PM - Campfire and Smores at Camp
11:30 PM - Quiet time / Bed time
7 AM - Bagels and Juice
9:30 AM - Clean Up and Take Down
10:00 AM - Event Ends*
(*Marina and Beach Passes good for remainder of day.)
What To Bring To The Campout
Campers will need to bring their own camping equipment (tents,
sleeping bags, etc. Meals are not provided
but community grills are located throughout the park. S’mores
will be available after the show on Saturday, and donuts, juice
and milk will be provided Sunday morning.
