Mildale Farm
Unique Mildale

buildings (featuring lodging and large gathering accommodations)
and is situated on 22 acres of the more than 600 beautiful acres
that make up Mildale

Antioch Park
The
Helen Cuddy Rose Garden and Memorial
Arboretum in Antioch Park
provides a lovely wedding background. The peak blooming time
for the roses is during June and into July. This facility is
available by reservation only. The rose garden is used for weddings
only and is not available for receptions. Shelter #4
at Antioch Park is a large gazebo located on the shore of the
South Lake. This park has undergone some renovation and now
features both a new bridge and a boardwalk skirting the South
Lake. Additional parking has also been added just north of Shelter
#4.

Shawnee Mission Park
Shawnee Mission Park provides
a variety of shelters with a beautiful outdoor setting. The
Small Lakes area at Shawnee Mission
Park provides a unusual opportunity to be married on an
open island. Shawnee Mission park is also a fantastic venue
for not only the wedding photos but the engagement photos as

Heritage Park
Heritage Park provides 10 picnic
shelters (two large capacity), a 40 acre lake, marina and picnic
areas. One of the unique features at this park is the Black
Bob Island Shelter House. The shelter house is available
by reservation for groups of up to 300. A large capacity shelter,
great for any size wedding and is accessible by foot from the

Heritage Park Golf Course
The Heritage Park
Golf Course Green Room is our indoor facility
with a capacity of 110 guests available for rental at our Heritage
Park Golf Course. For rental information, please call Wayne

TimberRidge Adventure Center
TimberRidge
Adventure Center is an exceptional place to plan a rehearsal
dinner, wedding, and reception. The site offers two locations
to plan your event. The Welcome Center is an
indoor facility with a beautiful wrap around deck, full size
kitchen and can accommodate up to 80 people inside. The
Whispering Pine Shelter is outdoors, has a limestone
fireplace, attached restrooms, and can accommodate up to 200
people. We also have two gorgeous ponds for pictures and a wonderful
view. Start the adventure of a new life together with us. 3.2%
cereal malt beverage only, allowed with permit. For more information

While you will find extensive descriptions of JCPRD's facility

shelter), we strongly suggest that you take a drive around our
parks and facilities you are considering to see if they will
accommodate your event needs. You may also view and download

Antioch located in Merriam, KS. Our office hours are 8:30am
to 5:00pm, Monday thru Friday. Our phone lines hours are 8:30am
and 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday.
Reservations are for facilities are “as is”. Requests
for other uses (tents, etc.) may require a Special Use Permit.

Flowering Plants
As a general rule, the District's parks are oriented toward
recreational activities and green space, as opposed to displays
of flowering plants. The exception to this would be Antioch
Park, which has several planted areas.
JCPRD Wedding Permit
For weddings being held in District parks and facilities, a
JCPRD Wedding Permit is required. There is a per-event fee for
Johnson County resident and nonresidents, but this fee is waived
when a park shelter or the Helen Cuddy Rose Garden is reserved
in conjunction with the event. For additional information on

Catering Available Through Picnic Program
In 2002, the District launched the Group and Corporate Picnic
program. Through this service, which is aimed primarily at groups
of 50 or more, callers can arrange catering for food ranging
from brats to steaks, as well as equipment such as tables, chairs,
tents, and special items such as moon walks. Our staff can plan
a custom reception or picnic for your group, or you may choose
from our picnic packages.
