ALL SHELTER FEES are NON-REFUNDABLE and
ALL RESERVATIONS are "AS IS".
Patrons who attempt to occupy a shelter without a reservation run the risk of having to immediately vacate the shelter upon arrival of an individual possessing a reservation.
Please have a copy of your shelter reservation form available to verify your reservation.
Special Use Permits
Requests for other uses (tents, large group activities, commercial, photographs, etc.) require a Special Use Permit. Please view the "Special Use Permit" page for details.
No alcohol is allowed in JCPRD parks or at shelters, with the exception of TimberRidge Adventure Center and The Pavilion at The Theatre in the Park. A special permit may be required.
Changes are subject to $5.00 processing fee and must be made at least 2 business days in advance of reservation date.
Off Season Reservations (Oct 16 - Apr 14)
Reservations for a shelter during the “off-season” months are available at half of the regular shelter rental fee. Reservations can be made through the JCPRD Registration Office at (913) 831-3359.
Note: There are no working restroom facilities or running water at shelters during the “off-season” months.

Half days* are 8 am to 1:30 pm or 3:30 pm to 10 pm
Full days* are 8:00 am to 10:00 pm
*Exception - Antioch Park Shelters close at 9:00 pm (off-season 8:00 pm)
Johnson County Residents: $55 half day / $80 full day
Nonresidents: $75 half day / $115 full day
Johnson County Residents: $75 half day / $110 full day
Nonresidents: $105 half day / $160 full day
We strive to keep our parks clean and safe for your health and
enjoyment. Even so, to reduce your chances of exposure to germs
or chemicals, we encourage you to use general common sense when using
our picnic facilities.
JCPRD campground reservations are only available for Not-For-Profit Youth Organizations at Shawnee Mission Park. Time segments are 12 pm to 12 pm the following day. No charge for earlier arrivals when available.

TENNIS COURTTennis Court Reservation
There are no reservations needed for the Antioch Park tennis courts. They are available on a first come - first served basis. There are NO lights available at either location.

FACILITY RENTAL OPTIONSArts & Heritage Center
The Arts & Heritage Center - The full event space accommodates 300, with multiple layout options available. Space can be divided into two separate rooms with a capacity of 200 & 100. Finishing kitchen available. Creative Commons Event Space Hallway large buffet style food service, and projection/audio capabilities are available. Ernie Miller Nature Center / Amphitheater
The Ernie Miller Nature Center has rooms for meetings, including its rustic main exhibit room, with a large wood-burning fireplace. Small kitchen with limited space and equipment. The outdoor amphitheater seats approximately 80 persons and has a stage for entertainment and announcements. Alcoholic beverages not allowed.
Heritage Park Golf Course - The Green Room
The Green Room is a spacious room with wet bar, scenic window views, seating for 110, restrooms and is not attached to our golf clubhouse. Catering can be arranged. Alcohol permit available upon request. Note: Reservations usually booked far in advance. Ample parking. Contact Sarah Vogelsberg.
The Mildale Farm is JCPRD’s premier event facility and the perfect venue for your special event including weddings, family reunions, holiday parties, corporate retreats, and banquets. For information about the event facility rental opportunities, please contact us.
New Century Fieldhouse
The New Century Fieldhouse is JCPRD’s 88,000-square foot premier indoor sports and multi-use facility. Features include artificial turf field for soccer, football and lacrosse field sports as well as multiple court configurations for basketball and volleyball. New Century Fieldhouse also offers field rentals for team practices year-round with indoor comfort. at Mid-America West Sports Complex
Whether you’re looking for an entire indoor sports facility or a single practice court, Okun Fieldhouse has the space you need. Located within the Mid-America West Sports Complex (MAWSC) at 20200 Johnson Drive in Shawnee, the 56,500-square-foot fieldhouse features four basketball courts, eight volleyball courts, and concessions.
Roeland Park Community Center
The Roeland Park Community Center is a multifaceted facility that provides a wide range of services and a wealth of recreational and learning opportunities. It is a great choice for a celebrations or other activities that require a large amount of space.

The Roeland Park Dome is a great choice for a lock-in, graduation celebration or other activities that require a large amount of space. Chaperones are required for most events.
The Theatre in the Park: Corporate/Special Events
Located on 10 acres in the northeast corner of Shawnee Mission Park, The Theatre In The Park is one of the best outdoor venues in the metro area, and features a state of the art lighting and sound system. This venue is perfect for special events, festivals, corporate gatherings, fundraising events, and other public attractions where you need a large amount of space, a city-wide location and a reasonable price. Reservations can be made for special catered events followed by entry to a regularly scheduled, theatre performance. The Theatre in the Park: The Pavilion
Located adjacent to The Theatre In The Park, The Pavilion, is an excellent venue for a beautiful wedding event, family reunion or corporate party. This spectacular structure features a limestone fireplace, a fire pit, attached restrooms and ample parking. The Pavilion has picnic table seating for up to 240 guests and allows additional seating to accommodate up to 400 guests. Alcohol beverages are permitted. TimberRidge Adventure Center
The TimberRidge Adventure Center offers both indoor and outdoor facilities. Our Whispering Pine shelter accommodates 200 people. It is equipped with a limestone fireplace, attached restrooms and overlooks scenic Catfish Lake. Our indoor facility, the Welcome Center, is available for any event. It includes a full size kitchen, restroom facilities, a large outdoor deck which wraps around the building and can accommodate 80 people. The view from the Welcome Center deck overlooks beautiful Nessie's Lagoon. Other amenities available upon request include: Challenge Course, climbing tower, canoes, paddle boats, archery, BB gun range, hiking and fishing (state license required). Tomahawk Hill Golf Course: The Elmridge Room

The Elmridge Room in the Tomahawk Hills Golf Course Clubhouse is the perfect place to hold your next meeting, reception or party. The 34’ x 47’ room seats up to 120 with ease. It includes 15 round tables, seating for 8 at each table, and it includes a 43’ x 11’ dance floor, which can accommodate 4 more tables, seating 32 additional if necessary. The Elmridge Room amenities also include a catering bar and kitchenette with a microwave oven, sink and refrigerator. Alcoholic beverages are permitted.
