Looking for a quick escape from the city blues? A walk through the 113-acre park will take you through a diverse range of habitats: tall grass prairie, upland meadows, bottomland forest, and stream.

View birds from the Nature Center's lobby as they visit the feeders. Learn more about bees while observing a working hive. Discover more about the park's wildlife and history through exhibits and a diorama.

Exhibit of the history of parks, nationally and locally.
The Visitor Center in Shawnee Mission Park is named after the District's first park superintendent. The Center is located at the entrance to Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee.

Visitor Center Hours
Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Weekend hours posted seasonally.

Shawnee Mission Park Hours
March 1 - October 31, 5:00 a.m. - 11:00 p.m.
November 1 - February 28, 7:30 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
