Summer Camp – Ages 11-14 years old
L.E.A.D. Summer Camp promotes leadership skills in 6th-9th grade youth
through service learning, global awareness, environmental stewardship,
career exploration, life skill education, hobby learning, and positive
recreation. Campers will create personal weekly schedules including
a mix of community service projects, educational tours and presentations,
recreational activities, and field trips. Campers will have the opportunity
to participate in activities such as swimming, archery, fishing, canoeing,
rocketry, biking, arts and crafts, team sports, and group games.
Over 500 campers have participated in L.E.A.D. Since L.E.A.D. began
in 2007, campers have logged more than 3,000 community service hours,
aided over 50 organizations, visited 30 business establishments, and
enjoyed hundreds of hours of summer fun and recreation. L.E.A.D. was
awarded a National Association of Counties (NACo) National Achievement
Award in 2008.
