Ernie Mill Park consists of 116-acres of nature park and program use area with a diverse range of habitats including tallgrass prairies, upland meadows, bottomland forest and a beautiful stream to explore. The park also features an 80-seat outdoor amphitheater, picnic shelter, nature center, and three miles of nature trails.
The master plans for Ernie Miller Park as well as Heritage and Shawnee Mission Parks were developed, proposed and completed by the consulting team, Landplan Engineering, submitting a plan titled "3 Plans for 3 Parks". The plan was approved by the JCPRD’s Board of Park and Recreation Commissioners in December 17, 2003.
