|Mid-Summer's Night Cache is Aug. 2 in Shawnee Mission Park|
Come try a modern day scavenger hunt during a fun new special event being offered by the Johnson County Park & Recreation District in early August.
Mid-Summer’s Night Cache is the name of the event, which is for all ages and will take place beginning at 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2, near Shelter #2 at Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee and Lenexa. Participants will receive use of a GPS devise, an introductory “how to” session, and a new prize for each cache. After the hunt, participants will gather around one of the park’s fire pits for hotdogs and s ‘mores To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under fun for all and then under special events. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “geocaching.”
