|Zumba exercise class offered for adults at MCAC beginning July 27|
Zumba is rapidly becoming the next fitness sensation and you can join in the fun during a class being offered in late July at the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.
Zumba incorporates Salsa, Belly Dance, West African, and other world dances in a fun party-like atmosphere. You don't have to know how to dance to do Sumba, as anyone can do the easy-to-follow routines, which also feature aerobics/fitness interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. This program is for ages 18 and older and is considered moderate intensity. To find these programs in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under adult and then under fitness & health. In the catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keyword “exercise.”
This class is offered at 8 a.m. Saturday, beginning July 27, at the Mill Creek Activity Center, 6518 Vista Dr., Shawnee.
The cost for six 50-minute sessions is $45 per person for Johnson County residents or $50 for nonresidents.
The JCPRD Activities catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pickup at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the district's website at www.jcprd.com
