POSTED: 12/06/2006

Boys and girls ages five to eight have the opportunity to participate in two separate six-week indoor soccer programs being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District beginning Saturday, Jan. 6. For ages five to six, an Indoor Soccer Clinic is offered, while an Advanced Indoor Soccer Clinic is offered for ages seven and eight. Search for the keyword "soccer" to find these programs in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

The Indoor Soccer Clinic will involve three weeks of initial instruction and practice followed by three weeks of games. Coaches will emphasize fun while working on the fundamentals of soccer: dribbling, trapping, shooting, throw-in, and field positions. This program is offered at 1 p.m. at the Roeland Park Sports Dome, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park and at 4 p.m. at the Tomahawk Sports Dome, 17501 Midland Drive, Shawnee. The cost for six 50-minute sessions is $45 per person for Johnson County residents or $49 per person for nonresidents.

The Advanced Indoor Soccer Clinic consists of six weeks of practices and games. This program will take place beginning at 5 p.m. at the Tomahawk Dome. The cost for six 50-minute sessions is $50 per person for Johnson County residents or $55 per person for nonresidents.
