Special Holiday Ice Skating & Hockey Classes Offered Dec. 26-29 at Ice Midwest

Take advantage of holiday time off from school or work through Special Holiday ice skating and ice hockey classes being offered through the Johnson County Park and Recreation District. The classes are offered at Ice Midwest, 12140 W. 135th St., Overland Park.

Participants will learn to skate forward, backward, and stop. Other important maneuvers will be taught to improve balance and strength. Long pants, sweatshirt, and gloves are the suggested attire. All sessions will meet daily Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 26-29.

The Holiday Sessions of Beginning Ice Skating for ages three-to-six are offered at 11:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Sessions for ages six to 16 are offered at 11:15 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Search for the keywords "ice skating" to find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities Catalog and online listings.

A Special Holiday Session of beginning Ice Hockey for ages five to 16 will take place beginning at 5:15 p.m., also Tuesday through Friday, Dec. 26-29. Search for the keywords "ice hockey" to find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities Catalog and online listings.

For all of these classes, the cost for four 30-minute sessions is $56 for Johnson County residents or $62 for nonresidents. Participants also receive free admission to the public session immediately following class.
