|New Abrakadoodle® Fourth of July Fun Program Offered during The Theatre in the Park's July 4 Performance of Peter Pan|
Young audience members can join in the Abrakadoodle® fun during the July 4 performance of Peter Pan at Theatre in the Park, 7710 Renner Road, Shawnee.
The program is called Abrakadoodle® Fourth of July Fun and is for ages three through 12. Participants will have a chance to create an art project to help celebrate Independence Day. Art tables with all the red, white, and blue supplies they need to create a shiny star complete with glitter, ribbons, or streamers will be set up downstage prior to this night's performance. Another project young artists can choose will involve making a pretend firecracker using Crayon® Model Magic modeling material.
The art tables will be set up from 6:30 to 8 p.m., with the play beginning at 8:30 p.m. The cost is $2 per project paid on-site and no preregistration is required. Note that regular Theatre admission prices apply and are $6 for adults and $4 for youth ages four to ten. Admission for children three and under is free.
Another special event for this night's Theatre in the Park audience is the Fireworks Extravaganza, which will take place during intermission. This event is sponsored by the Cities of Shawnee and Lenexa.
