50 Plus plans Bingo games on July 2, 10, and 25

Three themed bingo games at three locations are being planned during July by the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park & Recreation District.

July 4th Picnic is the theme for a bingo game which will take place beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2, at the New Century Fieldhouse, 551 New Century Parkway, near Gardner. The second program in July will have the theme Juicy Watermelon and will take place beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10, at the Matt Ross Community Center, 8101 Marty, Overland Park. The third program of the month has the theme Ice Cream Sundae and will take place beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. Each event will feature about 12 games of bingo, as well as food, prizes, and fun.

The cost for each two-hour program is $5 per person for Johnson County residents or $6 for nonresidents. Advance registration is required. Please RVSP by calling one of our 50 plus centers at (913) 642-6410, (913) 826-2860, or (913) 826-3160.

Themes for other upcoming 50 Plus Bingo programs being planned include: Pink Lemonade on Aug. 14 at the Tomahawk Ridge Community Center; and Heat Wave on Aug. 22 at the Mill Creek Activity Center. New Century Fieldhouse, is located at 511 New Century Parkway, near Gardner. Matt Ross Community Center is located at 8101 Marty, Overland Park. Tomahawk Ridge Community Center is located at 11902 Lowell, Overland Park. Mill Creek Activity Center is located at 6518 Vista Dr., Shawnee.

While the JCPRD’s 50 Plus programs are primarily for people who are age 50 or older, interested parties who have not yet reached that magic age may still be able to attend. Persons 18 and older who are interested in a 50 Plus class are invited to call the District’s Registration Department at (913) 831-3359, and if space is available without forfeiting the place of a person over 50, their registration can be taken.
