Summer Theater Camp for Youth Begins June 19
POSTED: 05/26/2006
A Summer Theater Camp being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District offers youth with little or no theater experience a great opportunity.

This program is for ages ten to 15 and is designed to touch on the many aspects of theater, including movement, voice and diction, script work, and staging. Under the guidance of theater, dance, and music educators, participants will rehearse and perform a production of "You're a Good Man Charlie Brown" for family and friends at the end of camp. Fee includes a camp T-shirt. Search for the keyword "theater" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

Camp meets from 9:30 to noon Monday through Thursday for five weeks beginning June 19 at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. The cost for 20 two and one-half -hour sessions is $185 per child for Johnson County residents or $204 per person for nonresidents.

The JCPRD's ACTIVITIES catalog, with information and a registration form, is available for pick-up at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359 VOICE or (913) 831-3342 TDD. To register online and for updated program listings, visit the District's website at
