|Jayhawk Baseball Camp Offered for Youth June 5-8|
Boys entering grades one through six during the 2006-07 school year are invited to participate in a Jayhawk Baseball Camp being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
This four-day camp has a broad instructional format and will cover all aspects of the game. The youth-oriented program's goal is to give participants a jump on summer leagues and an opportunity to develop basic skills in the game of baseball, including throwing, fielding, hitting, and pitching. Drills, instructional sessions, games, and other exercises will be used. This camp will be staffed by University of Kansas Head Baseball Coach Ritch Price.
Participants should bring their own shoes (no steel cleats), a baseball glove, a bat, catching equipment, and practice attire.
Jayhawk Baseball camp will take place from 9 a.m. to noon June 5-8 at the Mid-America Sports Complex, 20000 Johnson Drive, Shawnee. The cost for four three-hour sessions is $130 per person for Johnson County residents or $143 for nonresidents.
