|Two Tentative Dedication Dates Set for 2002|
Two tentative dedication dates have now been set for Johnson County Park and Recreation District facilities during 2002.
Planned for April 27 is the dedication of Timber Ridge Adventure Camp, located in the District's new Kill Creek Regional Park. As planned at this time, the ceremony will take place in the camp's Welcome Center, 12300 South Homestead Lane, Olathe. Also on-site that day will be the Galyan's Outdoor Skills Day, an event which was initiated in 2001 and which is being moved from its previous location at Ernie Miller Park. During this three-hour clinic, participants have an opportunity to test their outdoor survival skills.
Also tentatively set is the formal dedication of the Gary L. Haller Trail, located in the Mill Creek Streamway Park. This event is being planned for National Trails Day, June 1, at a trail access point and time to be announced. District officials agreed earlier this year to name the trail in honor of Haller, who retired in late June 2001 after more than a quarter century at the District's helm. The park in which the trail is located will continue to be known as the Mill Creek Streamway Park.
