|2002 Shelter Reservations for JCPRD Parks Will Begin Jan. 2|
On Wednesday, Jan. 2, the Johnson County Park and Recreation District will begin taking shelter reservations for 2002.
Reservations can be made through the JCPRD for shelters in Antioch Park, Shawnee Mission Park, Heritage Park, Thomas S. Stoll Memorial Park, Sunflower Park, Ernie Miller Park, Mill Creek Streamway Park, and the new Kill Creek Park. Reservations can be made for a full day, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., or a half day, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. or 3 p.m. to 10 p.m.
There are three designations for shelter sizes in District parks. For information on how a specific shelter is designated, please visiti the District's website at www.jcprd.com, consult the JCPRD Quarterly ACTIVITIES catalog, or contact the reservation office. Because JCPRD parks are tax-supported facilities, nonresident fees for shelter reservations are higher than those for county residents.
Small shelter reservation costs are $30 per half-day or $50 per full day for residents, and $45 per half-day or $80 per full day for nonresidents. Medium shelter reservation costs are $35 per half-day or $60 per full day for residents and $50 per half-day or $90 per full day nonresidents. Large shelter reservation costs are $55 per half-day or $90 per full day for residents and $80 per half-day and $125 per full day for nonresidents. Shelter reservation fees are non-refundable.
To make a reservation or for more information, contact the District's reservation/registration department at Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch Road, Building C, Merriam. Reservations are accepted by phone at (913) 831-3359 from 8:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Registrations are also accepted in-person at the offices from 8:30 to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
