|Two Adventure Camps Offered During Spring Break, March 13-17|
Children can have an adventure during spring break through either of two different camp programs being offered at Ernie Miller Park, 909 North Kansas 7 Highway, Olathe. The programs are Spring Break Adventure Camp for ages six to ten and Amazing Adventures Camp for ages 11 to 13. Both camps take place Monday through Friday, March 13 through 17. Spring Break Adventure Camp will allow participants to join in fun nature activities and games as well as romp through the great outdoors. Activities will include creating nature treats, wildlife presentations, a field trip, and, weather permitting, fishing. Activities begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m. For the convenience of working parents, supervision will be provided from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Children should bring a nutritious sack lunch, snacks, and a drink. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers. Registration is due two weeks prior to the start of camp. The cost for five 8-hour sessions is $99 per child for Johnson County Residents or $109 for nonresidents. Camp fees are nonrefundable.
Amazing Adventures Camp is a new spring offering and will give participants a chance to explore wild areas, find forgotten trails, and learn secrets of survival. Many of the activities will take place at the Timber Ridge Adventure Center, including the new four story Hawks Nest Climbing Tower and will include rock climbing, belaying and rappelling, mastering knots, canoeing, animal tracking, and camp cooking. Comfortable clothing, a backback containing a sack lunch and a water bottle are required. Programmed activities begin at 9 a.m. and continue until 3 p.m. For the convenience of working parents, supervision will be provided from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. daily. Children should bring a nutritious sack lunch, snacks, and a drink. Enrollment is limited to 20 campers. Registration is due two weeks prior to the start of camp. The cost for five 6-hour sessions is $125 per child for Johnson County Residents or $138 for nonresidents. Camp fees are nonrefundable.
