|Stingrays Swim Team begins May 28 for ages 5-18|
Youth of all ability levels are invited to join a summer league swim team based at the Roeland Park Aquatic Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park.
The team is called the Stingrays Swim Team and is for ages five through 18. This is a great chance to get involved in a lifetime sport. Swimmers ranging from novices to the highly-skilled and competitive minded are invited to join. Participants must be able to swim 25 yards of freestyle. Swimmers will have opportunities to compete in meets within the Johnson County Swim and Dive League. Swimmers will compete in ages groups to be determined by the child's age as of June 1.
To find this program in the JCPRD’s Activities catalog and online listings, browse first under youth and then under aquatics. In the printed catalog and when using the website’s advanced search, look for the keywords “swim team.”
The Stingrays meet at 9 a.m. Monday through Friday beginning May 28. The cost for seven weeks of daily one-hour practices for Johnson County residents is $72 for the first child and $62 for additional children from the same family. The cost for nonresidents is $79 for the first child and $68 for additional children from the same family. This includes league fees, a swim cap, and a T-shirt. There is a $5 discount off of registrations received by May 15 and a registration day event will take place at the RPAC on May 4.
