Excuse Me, Are You a Dragon Puppet Show Performance Planned for June 27 at Roeland Park Community Center
POSTED: 06/01/2005

A story known as "a tale of love and polite monsters" will be brought to life by Stone Lion’s intricate puppets during a June 27 performance for children ages three to 12.

The performance, called Excuse Me, Are You a Dragon?, is based on the book of the same name by Rhett Ransom Pennell, and will be presented as a full-fledged puppet musical. The show features knights in shining armor, singing banshees, silly ogres, and of course, a dragon. In the story, Little King Edwin is bored and thinks his kingdom needs more excitement - in the form of a dragon. So it's up to his uncle, the royal knight Sir Gordon, to find one. The problem is, Sir Gordon keeps running into every sort of mythologicial creature EXCEPT a dragon. Will Sir Gordon find a dragon? And if he does .... what will he do with it? Search for the keyword "puppetry" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.

Excuse Me, Are You a Dragon? will include lots of action and songs and will take place beginning at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 27 at the Roeland Park Community Center, 4850 Rosewood, Roeland Park. This special event is sponsored by the Roeland Park Community Center and the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.

The show will last approximately one hour. All tickets include a drink and a snack. The cost for advance tickets is $4 per person, while at the door on the day of the performance, tickets will cost $5 per person.
