|New Bike Touring Basics Workshop Offered for Adults on June 25|
Ever wonder what it takes to travel by bicycle? A new four-hour workshop being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District can help.
Whether you are interested in a short weekend trip or an adventure lasting a week or more, this program called Bike Touring Basics will teach you what you need to get started. Topics to be covered include: equipment, conditioning, route planning, camping, safety, and more. This program is for the recreational cyclists ages 18 and up with no previous touring experience. Search for the keywords "bike touring" to find this program in the JCPRD's Activities Catalog and online listings.
Bike Touring Basics will take place beginning at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 25 at the John Barkley Visitors Center, located at the east entrance of Shawnee Mission Park, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee. The cost for one four-hour session is $30 for Johnson County residents or $33 for nonresidents.
