50th Anniversary First-Ever KidFest and Scavenger Hunt Set For June 25
POSTED: 06/01/2005
A KidFest and Scavenger Hunt has been scheduled for June 25 at Antioch Park, 6501 Antioch, to help the Johnson County Park and Recreation District celebrate its 50th anniversary during 2005. The event will also be an opportunity to show off the newly-renovated park.

This four-hour event is free to the public, is open to all ages and will begin at 10 a.m. KidFest is being presented by the JCPRD's Children's Services Department, which has served Johnson County for 36 years.

KidFest will transform Antioch Park into a carnival-like atmosphere as all 21 After School and five preschool programs help out on events such as a moon walk, obstacle course, dunk tank, velcro wall, and much more. Also planned are a traveling zoo and an appearance by Kansas City Royals Mascot Sluggerrr, who will talk with the kids and sign autographs. No registration is required for this event.

The JCPRD's ACTIVITIES catalog, with more information, is available for pick-up at all Johnson County Library branches. For more information or to register, call (913) 831-3359 VOICE or (913) 831-3342 TDD. To register online and for updated program listings, see the District's website at
