|Family Kayak Lessons Offered on May 17 and 18|
Learn the basics of flatwater kayaking through an introductory workshop being offered by the Johnson County Park and Recreation District.
Family Kayak Lessons are for ages 10 and up and are designed for beginners. The program will feature a combination of lecture and hands-on experience. Family Kayak Lessons are offered at two days and times during May . Topics to be covered include safety, equipment, and stroke techniques. Programs are scheduled for Tuesday, May 17 and Wednesday, May 18. Both programs begin at 6 p.m. at the Shawnee Mission Park boat ramp, 7900 Renner Road, Shawnee. The cost for one two-and-one-half session is $12 per person for Johnson County residents or $14 per person for nonresidents.
